The air is cool and crisper (even here in Southern California). The leaves are turning their beautiful fiery colors before fluttering to the ground. And pumpkins are appearing on doorsteps and in window displays at all the stores. Fall is finally here and everyone is welcoming the change of the season with open arms and hungry bellies.

I especially love fall. As a Maine girl by birth, fall has always been an important season to me. The change of season signified new starts and coming changes. Plus, the cooler temperatures and darker days made for the perfect excuse to snuggle under a blanket with some hot tea and a good book…..or cuddly kiddo. With the blankets, tea, and hoodies, I also find myself longing for the flavors of fall when the first bright red leaf hits the ground.
I’m a big believer in eating seasonally (for so many reasons), but fall especially has a distinct flavor palate that is just delicious as well as nourishing. Squash, pumpkins, hearty meats, and earthy spices flavor the season and get everyone geared up for the holidays. I am no different in longing for these festive fall flavors and purposely cook with the lovely seasonal ingredients that fall brings. While there are many many amazing cozy recipes to indulge in this season, here are a few of my favorite healthy fall recipes that I’ve been eating as I flop around in hoodies and cozy slippers.
