Grain-Free Cranberry Apple Crumble {Paleo}

By Taesha Butler September 12, 2017 (Updated August 6, 2021) 8 Comments

Grain-Free Cranberry Apple Crumble is the perfect fall blend of sweet apples and tangy cranberries in on warm and cozy naturally sweetened dessert that is naturally gluten free and dairy-free…and sure to be a crowd pleasing dessert!

Pin this recipe for later!

This recipe took a lot of self-control on my part……not to eat the whole damn dish…..in one sitting…alone…..and then hide the evidence from my family.

A lot of self-control.

But I managed. Despite my kitchen smelling of warm cozy cinnamon and sweet baking apples. Regardless of the tangy cranberries calling my name, I managed to hold off eating this Grain-Free Cranberry Apple Crumble long enough to photograph it for you lovely people, and then share it with my family.

Well, some of it.

Grain-Free Cranberry Apple Crumble is the perfect fall blend of sweet apples and tangy cranberries in on warm and cozy naturally sweetened dessert that is perfect for curling up with on a crisp fall morning or to share with a crowd as an easy and delicious dessert.

I made this particular crumble grain-free because that is mainly how I eat. I have found that after years and years of dieting and trying out oodles of different eating styles that my body is happiest when I keep my grain intake really minimal. Less bloat. Less crash. Happier me.

And the more that we ate grain-free meals and foods, the more that I noticed that my family also benefited from a more Paleo focused way of eating.

Especially my daughter. She wasn’t jonesing for snacks quite so much and she didn’t seem to have blood sugar highs and lows that sent her emotions and behavior on a roller coaster.  Grain-free and/or Paleo might not be the right way to eat for everyone and every family, but it is the best move for my crew and so that is how we mainly roll these days.

The good news here is that even if YOU don’t eat a grain-free diet, you will love and adore this crumble. It’s so stinking easy and fast to whip up and the end result is full of classic seasonal flavors that it is hard not to enjoy….especially if you dollop a little vanilla ice cream on your serving.

Not only is this cobbler grain-free, but I made it with really clean and simple ingredients. Naturally sweetened with fruit and honey or maple syrup, it is delicious enough to serve for dessert but healthy enough to enjoy for breakfast. You will have no regrets bringing this crumble to a holiday feast or gathering, as it will be enjoyed by all. However, you will be quite bummed when you don’t have any leftover to bring home to enjoy the next morning with your coffee.

Sorry, folks. These are the breaks.

    Looks delicious! Is the 1/4 coconut oil meant to be added to the crumble?

    Any possible substitutions you could recommend instead of almond meal as we have an almond allergy in our family.

    Thank you.

      Perhaps oat flour? I haven’t tried it but that would be my best guess, however it wouldn’t be grain-free anymore.
