RAISING MINDFUL EATERS
The world is a busy place these days. Families hustle to school, to work, to activities, and social events. They often eat on the go, separately, and sometimes with smart phones in one hand while a fork is in the other. Meals have become about filling the gut in the fastest way possible instead of fueling the body with the nutrients it needs. And people left and right are struggling with unhealthy relationships with food. So, it is no wonder that the generation we are currently raising is at risk of becoming distracted eaters who put more thought into their outfit of the day than what they are eating for breakfast. However, there are few steps we, as their parents, care takers, and role models, can take to promote the development of a healthy relationship with food and mindful eating habits.
