Healthy Chocolate Banana Protein Pudding

By Taesha Butler March 6, 2017 (Updated May 13, 2019) 19 Comments

I love many things about healthy living.

I love how my body feels and functions at its best when it is well nourished on real food. I love how I know my daughter’s body is full of nutrients, minerals and vitamins that will help her to grow the healthiest body she can and will carry with her her whole life. I love how clear my mind is and how my skin glows. I love how much husband and I looks years younger than we actually are because our bodies don’t feel the toll of junky processed foods being subsistutded as fuel.

I love all of that. But there is one thing that I don’t love (there has to be a downside to everything, after all).

I don’t love that there never seems to be anything quick and easy to grab when the munchies hit. Sometimes, you are hungry but don’t want to break out the pots and pans and cook. You just want something there and that you can grab.  Something in the moment that will satisfy your taste buds but also act as true clean fuel in your body.

It was THAT longing that inspired this recipe. This quick, easy and Healthy Chocolate Banana Protein Pudding is tasty as can be, super kid friendly (I mean, chocolate pudding….come on) and such a snap to make that I can whip together in a minute or two during my weekly meal prep and then have on hand for quick grab-and-go snacks or a healthy dessert during the week. Or, in the heat of the hungry moment! Make it ahead of time or right when you want to eat it! Healthy Chocolate Banana Protein Pudding makes real food eating a little easier.

When creating this recipe, protein was key. I believe when it comes to snacks, there needs to be a heavy dose of protein. Protein that will kill that munching urge and fuel you onto your next meal. I really love Rootz Paleo Protein Powder for adding a quick and solid dose of protein into my family’s diet. I discovered Rootz long ago and am never without a tub of their protein powder in my pantry. It’s so clean and loaded with amazing real food ingredients (unlike most other protein powders on today’s market) that it has become a true kitchen staple for this busy family. I put Rootz in everything from smoothies, to baked goods, to now pudding! I wonderful product I highly recommend to anyone who is looking for a clean protein powder!

So, without further ado….Healthy Chocolate Banana Protein Pudding!

I love the flavor of the Rootz protein powder so I can imagine how good these puddings are! I might have to make these tomorrow so I have one ready for after my Thursday morning Barre workout. (Must do prior to my workout since I can’t even move after, haha)

I made this yesterday and it was delicious! Is the consistency supposed to be seedy from the chia seeds or should it become smooth once blended?

This looks and sounds A-MAZING! I love the look of Rootz but don’t think they sell to the UK 🙁 it has a great set of ingredients. I’ve never had an egg white based protein before!

Well I messed this recipe up terribly, but in a good way. We don’t keep protein powder so I opted to exclude it. I also didn’t have chia seeds, so double fail. However, while it didn’t turn out thick it did turn into a delicious chocolate drink that my kids couldn’t finish quick enough! I’ll be trying this again when I have ALL of the ingridents.
